The Start of week 1: The Secret.

When I first decided to do this, I really didn't think that I was going to post it over the Internet, and let people know what my plans were, since originally they were sinister.
But after much thought I decided why not, it help me by venting out any frustrations I have, my progress and other such things.

Where to start.. Well if you know me, for a long period of time or just met, I have never been thin my whole life. I really don't think I was built that way, and I have always accepted my body for what it is...ROUND, curvy, fat. I have dated boys that have liked it, some that didn't but dragged me along on a relationship for the hell of it (but let's not get into that.) Sure I have problems getting into cute trendy clothes but in all honesty It has never really bothered me.

Now I am 24, 235lbs.. yup this is how much I weigh.. at an outstanding height of 5'3", pink hair, olive skin, and brown eyes. This is who I am and really enjoy it.

So let me guess you are saying if you are happy the way you are, why change??

Well if you noticed the title of my blog is "Getting FIT to prove you wrong" not Getting Skinny/thin to prove you wrong.. So with that, this is what I'm trying to do. My muscle mass is large, I am a very muscular person, I would like to tone myself up to make my cycling adventures more fun and not so much of a work out. In all honesty I don't think my gut is going anywhere. This is why I never really cared about how much I weighed, because weight is really just a number, like age.

So where does the prove you wrong come from??

Well this is where the sinister part comes from. I am around women my age all the time, and let me tell you some of these girls have image issues. They really have a hard time accepting there bodies for the way they are. Did I mention that these girls have better bodies than I do.. See I'm a cyclist and our outfits for performance aren't the most flattering. Tight Spandex... not FTW.. But it works and when your riding your bike up and down hills for miles it doesn't really matter. Some ladies wear things over there spandex to "cover up" there awesome bodies, and this makes me sad. They are always on Diets, to get thin, they want to be skinny.. but in all honesty they are looking at things the wrong way.

DON'T GET SKINNY, GET FIT!! Work with your body and grasp what you have!

So I am trying to get as fit as I can be, watch what I eat, and enjoy life. Because I am not a rabbit and will not settle for carrot sticks for lunch, although carrot sticks are quite yummy. ;)

How am I doing this?

Lance Armstrong wants to save everyone, I swear! He actually has a FREE calorie tracker online called The Daily Plate.

Biggest list of food ever, and big list of working out too. enter cycling and theres tons of options. It is quite awesome.

So with this, my gym membership that I've had forever, and my bike,
I will Succeed!

  2. Yay Randypants! Great first post... I've been thinking of starting a blog for a while now too, but for some reason I'm nervous about it. Maybe I should just do it. I've been meaning to start writing again anyway.
p.s. you're hot shit, and your unwaivering confidence has always been an inspiration to me :)

  3. Good for you! I tell myself the same thing (it's about being fit, not skinny), and intellectually, I know it's the way to go, but the old programming grabs me sometimes and leaves me feeling negatively about my body. Anyway, you are an inspiration, and I hope to follow your example. I have been on my own fitness track (what I can do with a baby 24/7) for the last several months now and haven't seen results in the numbers, but I do feel much stronger. Hopefully we will both succeed in our FITNESS (not thinness) goals. YAY!

  5. You're already fit, woman. You put in more miles in a day than most ridazz do in a week.

Also, will you join our club?

  6. This is a message for Randy's friends. Would you agree with me that she is super-cute and already super-fit? Maybe the title of the blog should be "getting fitter"!!! "Getting fit" implies a lack of fitness to begin with - I guess that's just Randy being too modest! The furthest I've ever cycled in one go is 32 miles, but certain people will cycle 32 miles just to warm-up...

  7. Go Randy! I'm doing this with you!! Today! I'm gonna start with you. Reading this is definitely inspiring me. This is going to be perfect. See... since you're way down there and we don't see each other often... we can both tell the difference when we finally see each other. It's like when you're around your friends and you know you lost 12 pounds but your friends don't see it cause they always see you. It's like, "Hello!! I'm losing weight! Where's the support here?" Let's do this!!
